ChatGPT has become a prima as far as AI is concerned. Now OpenAI is looking to solidify that position with an app store for ChatGPT app solutions.

In May, OpenAI CEO, Sam Altman disclosed the plan for an app store at a London developers’ meeting. The goal is to make chatbots useful across industries, so the store will allow companies buy and sell bots tailored to specific needs.

Google did it with the PlayStore, where they allow developers to publish and sell apps developed on Android. Not just Google, Apple also did it with the App Store. Now there are more than 3 million apps and 2 million apps on the Play and App Stores respectively.

After its launch’s in November 2022, did not just become the most rapidly adopted product in the history of technology, neither did we only have behemoths like Google and Facebook trying to build rival chatbots, we also saw smaller startups build AI apps for different purposes using the ChatGPT ecosystem.

Now there are over 1000 companies using ChatGPT. This number will keep growing because we will keep finding new applications for AI. With these, housing all AI apps built on top of ChatGPT in one store is a brilliant next step.
