Apple’s Elaborate Plan To Keep Ripping Google Off

Apple and Google are partners in a deal that requires Google to pay billions yearly so Apple will make Google the default search engine in all of its devices.

Apple ranks 4th and 2nd in the global PC and smartphone markets respectively. Any search engine that is the default for Apple devices has an advantage for winning the search engine war very easily. The top competing search engines:

  • Google
  • DuckDuckGo
  • Bing

But which should win?

The best, or the one built by the richest kid in the block?

Google has been winning with Apple devices and Apple claims it’s because Google is the best, but recent documents surfacing in the Department of Justice’s fight with Google revealed that Apple also understands that Google is the richest kid and had an elaborate plan to keep ripping the search giant off.

How the unfit dies

In technology, it’s very easy to assume that it’s the best product that always wins. But history is rife with examples of players in the tech space retaining an advantage because of moves unrelated to product quality.
