I Win, You Win. I Rock We All Rock. How To Be A Team Worker.
You see that competition thing that we often stir amongst kids, that “first to finish” thing? Most of us have unknowingly adopted this as a lifestyle.
A lifestyle of dichotomy, an either/or outlook towards reality.
Coupled with the manner the education system is designed — where few students are applauded for their positions in class, and others left to feel miserable — we now have this paradigm of competition, towards life.
We think that for we to win someone else somewhere will have to lose. And if someone else is winning, it means we’re losing. We think when people get more money, someone else somewhere is losing more money; and prompted by this, we often time strive to gain it all so the table will not turn some day and leave us on the losing side.
We think that other people’s shining comes at the expense of ours, so we strive to shine at their expense. We give no room for others to rise, with the fear they might eclipse our rising.
We took it further, comparing ourselves with ourselves. Like our individual qualities are in mean competition, one with another. We strive to remain in the spotlight, not knowing we can as well include more spotlights, so that each individual, based on his uniqueness, will receive the recognition they…
